I founded and co-founded a couple of companies: Redington and mallowstreet; I write about issues of the day that touch me and make me think. Mostly about how to make things better.

The difficulty lies not in the new ideas but in escaping from the old ones“. So said John Maynard Keynes in 1935. Right now, that means getting my head around the fact that the business plan I wrote with Robert Jason Bourne Gardner back in 2006 when we set up Redington is medieval history.

For a start, we seriously misunderestimated (with grateful thanks to George Dubya) the speed at which communication technology would re-invent itself. It’s mind-blowingly quick from jotting down your thoughts to getting a meaningful response. Incredibly, it feels like this whole warp-speed DIY publishing technology thing is only just kicking off.
